This is why I will miss radio:

Canberra's Apple retailer, Mac1, wanted Scotty & Nige to give away the new MacBook Air; and they gave the boys carte blanche to come up with a concept.

How else would you theme a competition around a super-thin laptop?



Only in Canberra would the breakfast jocks actually go to the trouble of obtaining their steamroller licenses so they could crush 102 laptops themselves.

Shits all over a 'Gotcha Call' any day of the week. Matt Tilley = FAIL.

god i hate Matt Tilley. Those "gotcha" calls are so unfunny. Maybe I'm just getting old, but fucking with people at their work, I don't find funny at all.

Yeah, I hate them with a fiery passion. The other station in our duopoly here in Canberra has just started running them, and they are shithouse. Firstly, they try to sell it like he's actually there in the studio, and fail miserably. And then at the end when he reveals who it is, he always says "it's Matt Tilley from Fox" - but they have to cut off the "from Fox" bit to play in Canberra, and it's always cut off a little roughly. As a result, I think most people here think his name is Matt Tilliff.

And secondly, they're just woeful. Completely abysmal and not funny and wrong. I don't see what it is about making people angry/upset for no reason that makes compelling and/or HILARIOUS radio.

"Wow, for ninety seconds that guy thought his house had collapsed! Awesome! And the way he just kept yelling and they had all those bleeps! Every one of those bleeps indicated a SWEAR WORD! The man was SWEARING! Because he was ANGRY! He was SWEARING...on the RADIO!! YOU CAN'T SWEAR ON THE RADIO!! Oh my god I LAUGHED AND LAUGHED AND LAUGHED..."
